General voting day · Saturday, October 17, 2026

Jason Heit, independent candidate for Victoria City Council

I'm here to represent you.

A message from Jason

I want to hear what matters to you, what you want for our city, and what you want from your City Council. You will be my priority.

I believe in balance, common ground, and practical solutions.

We can support our youth, seniors, families, vulnerable residents, first responders, veterans and military families, and people working to build a life and a future in Victoria who are struggling with the rising cost of housing and everyday life. We can support Indigenous communities and continue building strong, respectful relationships. We can also support workers, businesses, entrepreneurs, tourism, and the non-profits and unions that make Victoria run.

We can work toward a Victoria that is safer and more affordable, care for our environment, and provide meaningful support for people experiencing homelessness, addiction, and mental health challenges.

We can provide the services our city needs while respecting your tax dollars and spending them responsibly and efficiently.

We can communicate, listen to each other, find common ground, and work together to make good decisions for Victoria.

I believe in an open and transparent City Hall, where people know what's being decided, understand why decisions are being made, and have a real opportunity to be heard.

I also believe City Council should focus on the job you elected it to do: making Victoria the best city it can be. Our focus should be on the responsibilities of municipal government and on serving the people who live, work, own businesses, and raise their families here.

I don't represent a political party or a special interest group.

I work for you.

And if I'm fortunate enough to be elected, that doesn't change.

Let's work together.
